HCP Sails into First Place for the Prestigious Southam Award at the 2004 International Miami Boat Show.

Miami, FL – (February 12, 2004) – Sail America announced the 11th annual 2004 John Southam Award Winners for Excellence in Sailing Communications this morning at the Miami International Boat Show Press Breakfast. Marketing Committee Chair Sally Helme, who also serves as the publisher of Cruising World and Sailing World Magazines, presented the John Southam Award and $1,000 to HCP & Associates for sailing into first place in the electronic media category. Clearwater Community Sailing Center (www.clearwatersailing.org) competed with over 160 Web site submissions nationwide.

HCP worked closely with Sheraton Sand Key Resort’s General Manager Russ Kimball to provide a new Web presence for the Clearwater Community Sailing Center. The renovation cost of the Web site was provided pro bono by the Sheraton Sand Key Resort. The $1,000 will be donated to the Clearwater Community Sailing Center by HCP & Associates.

Clearwater Community Sailing Center Board Member Joe Calio was estatic about the news. “We are grateful for the donation by the Sheraton Sand Key Resort and for the creativity and ingenuity of Hill, Coniglio, Polins& Associates. We feel this award will generate the type of attention and activity we need to really get our community involved in such a beautiful family sailing center,” Calio said.

The Southam Award was established in 1993 in honor of John Southam, former publisher of Cruising World and Sailing World Magazines. The winner of the award receives a handsome trophy and $5,000; category winners receive a certificate and $1,000.
