TAMPA, Fla. (August 22, 2016) HCP Associates was selected by Voices for Children of Tampa Bay and Guardian ad Litem to produce a “Dogumentary” (documentary) for their Courthouse Dog Program.

The “Dogumentary” tells the story of how Guardian ad Litem (GAL) volunteers, former Voices for Children of Tampa Bay Director Betsy Smith and GAL volunteer Brenda Kocher were able to bring the Courthouse Dog Program and the film’s star, Tibet, to the Hillsborough County 13th Judicial Circuit. With the success of the program, which began in 2011, they hope to continue to expand the program and bring more facility dogs to courthouses around the state of Florida.

Ronna Kennedy, Executive Director of Voices for Children of Tampa Bay said, “When we first started the courthouse dog program, we knew it was going to be successful for the children in Hillsborough County. What we didn’t realize was what an amazing awareness tool Tibet has become for Voices for Children and Guardian ad Litem in order to reach the community and for the community to understand more of what we do and how our partnership works.”

A majority of the production took place at the George E. Edgecomb Courthouse, interviewing a number of judges, attorneys, and volunteers for Voices for Children and Guardian ad Litem. The documentary is set to debut at the 2016 Child Protection Summit on September 7-9 in Orlando, FL.
