Diahara Traore

Communications Associate

Traore, is a polyglot (French, English, Wolof, Bambara) trained communications practitioner with an eclectic international background. Although she was born in New York, she studied in Dakar-Senegal and received her International Baccalaureate Certificate prior to relocating to Florida where she studied at The University of Tampa and completed a double major (Magna Cum Laude) in Bachelor of Arts in Advertising, Public Relations, and Speech Studies. She is currently anticipating receiving her Master of Arts in Professional Communications from The University of Tampa at the end of 2024.

Traore previously served as a Communication Intern with the City of Tampa’s Parks and Recreation Department, was engaged in student competency development programs conducting primary and secondary research solutions at University of Tampa (UT) and was an advanced Speech Tutor for UT’s Center for Public Speaking. She also served with UT’s Diversity Advisory Group, a competitive student forum with the chief diversity officer and others to advocate for an inclusive learning environment in higher education.

As a Communications Associate at HCP Associates, Traore daily responsibilities revolve around managing the public image and reputation of all clients. Each day begins with scanning media outlets for any mentions of our clients, monitoring social media channels, and compiling press clippings. She is a liaison to journalists, bloggers, and influencers to pitch stories, arrange interviews, and secure media coverage. Crafting compelling press releases, media kits, and pitches tailored to each client’s unique brand and messaging is a key aspect of her role. Additionally, she collaborates with internal teams to develop strategic communication plans, analyze market trends, and provide insights for optimizing our clients’ public relations strategies. Ultimately, as a Communications Associates, Traore strives to effectively communicate all clients’ narratives, enhancing their visibility, and driving positive public perception to support their business objectives.

Outside of work, Traore enjoys travel, reading, spending time with her friends and family, and enjoying Tampa’s robust social setting.
