HCP Associates Presents Findings of the 34th Annual Sarasota County Citizen Opinion Survey

SARASOTA, Fla. (October 21, 2025) HCP Associates recently presented the 34th Annual Sarasota County Citizen Opinion Survey findings to the Board of County Commissioners.

These results were presented alongside Dr. Joshua Scacco, Director of the Center for Sustainable Democracy at the University of South Florida (USF), and fellow USF students, Isabella Rengifo and Kade Kranjc. This working relationship with HCP allows students to gain useful experience with applied research.

HCP began its partnering on the survey in 2018 and helped enhance the questionnaire and sample size to better reflect the growth in Sarasota County since the first study was conducted. Topics explored in the 2025 survey included citizen satisfaction, household stressors, county budget, growth and development, infrastructure, and more.

“This study provides timely information to Sarasota County’s elected officials and administration each year,” said Jack Smith, Director of Community Insights and Engagement at HCP Associates. “The methodology allows for consistent engagement with the community, offers perspectives on current topics, and tracks changes in residential perceptions on a range of quality of life issues.”

These insights provided by HCP’s research help guide the administration’s strategic decision-making process and future public outreach. To watch the presentation or view a copy, visit https://www.scgov.net/government/county-commission/citizen-opinion-survey
