Executive Summary
Main Street Zephyrhills (MSZ) works to preserve and revitalize the city’s historic downtown through economic vitality, design, organization and promotion.
Its events had built community participation, but inconsistent event branding, dispersed digital tools and an event centered public image made it harder to communicate the full breadth of its work.
HCP Associates worked with MSZ leadership on a phased plan to bring greater consistency to its brand and communications. The work included historically informed event identities, reusable visual templates, centralized web destinations for key initiatives, and research into investor and sponsorship models. Together, these efforts established a clearer foundation for promoting downtown activity and explaining why support for Main Street matters.

Understanding the Landscape
MSZ organizes recurring community events while also supporting the long term health of the historic district.
Familiar events such as Halloween Howl and the Festival of Lights and Christmas Parade drew attention, yet other initiatives needed a more distinct story and consistent visual identity. When communications focused chiefly on the event calendar, audiences could miss MSZ’s broader role in preservation, merchant support and downtown economic vitality.
The organization also managed registrations, web content and social channels through separate tools and workflows. HCP’s challenge was to connect the public facing story with a practical system that staff could maintain across events and ongoing initiatives.
Research
HCP explored Zephyrhills history and downtown landmarks to identify authentic themes for event branding and storytelling.
That work informed visual concepts and content for events including Founders Day, Kids Fest and the Veterans Day Parade.
HCP also reviewed investor and sponsorship approaches used by comparable Florida Main Street organizations, including tier structures, benefits and sponsor value propositions. This benchmarking informed recommendations for how MSZ could present support opportunities to businesses and individuals.

Strategy
The strategy was to give MSZ one coherent identity while allowing individual events to retain their own character. HCP developed a “Why support Main Street” messaging direction connecting events and preservation work to the larger value of an active, supported downtown. A centralized brand kit, reusable templates and historically grounded event icons gave the organization a more consistent system for future communications.
For digital communications, HCP planned clear destinations on MSZ’s primary website for major events and special initiatives, so audiences could find current details and take the next step without navigating disconnected platforms. The investor research provided a parallel framework for explaining levels of support and sponsor opportunities.
Marketing
HCP and MSZ staff applied the system across event and community communications.
Social content directed audiences to event information such as schedules, maps and parking details, while additional content highlighted historic landmarks, redevelopment activity, partners and investors. The intent was to show both the immediate reasons to visit downtown and the longer term work behind its vitality.
HCP also supported the development of event landing pages and materials for the Historic Home Theatre initiative, along with proposed investor tiers and annual sponsorship policies. These tools gave MSZ a more consistent way to present events, initiatives and opportunities to support the district.

Impact
Repositioned Main Street Zephyrhills’ communications around its full mission, historic preservation, downtown business vitality and community connection, so its story extended beyond the event calendar.
Established a cohesive family of event identities for Founders Day, Kids Fest and the Veterans Day Parade, drawing on local history while giving each event a recognizable character.
Connected social and event promotion to dedicated web destinations for schedules, maps, parking and other practical details, creating a clearer path from discovery to participation.
Brought the Historic Home Theatre initiative into the broader downtown story, giving preservation and future cultural activity a visible place in community communications.
Used benchmarks from Florida Main Street organizations to shape a more defined case for business investment, individual support and event sponsorship.
Put reusable brand assets, content themes and production workflows in place, giving MSZ staff a system they can apply across future events and initiatives.
What We Learned
A downtown organization needs to promote the events people see while also explaining the sustained work that makes those events and the district possible.
For Main Street Zephyrhills, historical storytelling, consistent communications and clearer pathways for public and investor participation provided a framework for telling that larger story.
