Originally from Buffalo, New York, Kershner is a recent alumnus of The University of Tampa. Graduating with Summa Cum Laude distinction, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a minor in Public Relations.
While attending the University of Tampa, Kershner developed a deep passion for writing as a creative outlet for his ideas. Introduction to Creative Writing, Communication Research Methods, and Introduction to Journalism are several courses that inspired Kershner to pursue a career where he can tell captivating stories to strategically inform the public while also making discoveries about the world. In college, Kershner was a founding member of the UT Public Relations Student Society of America. In addition, he was an active member of the Honors Society Phi Kappa Phi and routinely volunteered with Habitat for Humanity.
At HCP, Kershner focuses on writing and editing content for different types of retainer clients in a variety of unique B2B and B2C markets. An ardent writer with the ability to remain attentive to detail enables him to transform technical subject matter into humanly-relevant messages that resonate with and educate a variety of audiences. He is engaged daily in social media on behalf of the firm’s clients and develops press releases for local, regional and state distribution through PR Newswire and Business Wire. Kershner works diligently to develop compelling content plans. In addition, his collaboration with team members across all departments allows for him to establish a strong understanding of clients’ needs, the consumer experience, marketing strategy, and operational capabilities.
Kershner has a passion for languages, culture, photography, social action and the environment. In his spare time, he enjoys reading novels in his hammock and playing beach volleyball with his friends.
