HCP & Associates to Launch shinSAFE™ Kitchen Safety Device
SARASOTA, FL - (September 17, 2004) - Dr. Mark Burnett, founder of Dermal Enterprises, is now patent pending with his new invention, shinSAFE. Burnett engaged Hill, Coniglio, Polins & Associates to conduct market research, create brand strategies and produce overall product packaging and design vehicles for national sales.
Burnett, a Sarasota-based dermatologist, invented the device after realizing many of his patients suffered considerable leg injuries from running into dishwasher doors. "The aftermath can leave a fairly large flap of skin which can lay back and cause serious infection," Burnett said.
Burnett conducted an in-house survey of 1,000 of his own patients; he found that 62% ran into dishwasher doors.
The device was developed mainly for dishwashers, but is also useful for other household appliances, such as clothes dryers and ovens. The triangular device is attached to the front of the machine door with double-sided adhesive tape. It contains two warning devices-a flashing red LED and a repetitive beeping sound-to remind the owner that the door is in the down position.
Within the next six weeks, HCP & Associates will also develop a Web site for online sales at www.shinsafe.com
