HCP Launches SSK’s Fifth Generation Website

SAND KEY, Fla. (April 24, 2015) HCP recently launched a new website for Sheraton Sand Key Resort. This marks the fifth generation of SSK website developed by HCP.

Sheraton Sand Key Resort (SSK) is located on Sand Key, minutes from Clearwater Beach, offering 390 guest rooms and suites overlooking the Gulf of Mexico and the Intracoastal Waterway. A Starwood property, SSK has consistently had the support of a template website provided by its parent brand. Over the years, the resort has also benefited from hosting its own website through HCP that allows for greater creative liberty through content, photography and inclusion of local attractions.

Just last month, in celebration of the resort’s 40th anniversary, SSK completed a multi-million dollar, multi-year renovation. Prior to the official completion of the renovation, HCP prompted SSK to consider a renovation of its web presence to complement the on-site enhancements. With the collaboration of HCP, the resort embarked upon an overhaul of its site to modernize the design, boost user experience and help the property stand competitively above its fellow resorts throughout Sand Key and Clearwater Beach.

Early meetings between SSK and HCP established an interest in leveraging a forward-thinking design to position the site as not only a resource for resort information, but as a resource to share with guests all that Sand Key and the surrounding area has to offer.

From the vantage point of the visitor, the site is less copy-heavy and more graphically-driven. The homepage incorporates a looped video element that sets the tone for the experience that awaits guests at the resort. The looped video was filmed at the shoreline, facing the Gulf, onsite at the resort; therefore capturing the true vantage point of a guest staying at SSK.

Behind the scenes, the site’s design reflects the most up-to-date web development standards. This site is designed to be responsive; this ensures that all visitors to the site enjoy the same refined experience, regardless of the device, browser or operating system they’re using to access it. By prioritizing content, a great user experience, and solid SEO marketing practices, the site is built to last.
